2009 Airshows

I'm looking forward to the 2009 airshow schedule because I am lucky enough to be able to attend 3 airshows this year. The Salinas Airshow in Aug., NAS Fallon Airshow in Sept., and Edwards AFB Airshow in Oct. I'm looking forward to see the Blues Angels and many military aircraft especially the US Navy aggressors up at NAS Fallon. Here are some pics from some airshows and from our trips out to the Antelope Valley in the Mojave Desert.
Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules from California Air National
Guard unit based out of the Channel Islands.
Squadron callsign "Ocean".
Moon is not edited in, it was actually there.

Northrop Grumman T-38 Talon from Edwards AFB.
Squadron callsign "Cobra".
Taken at Palmdale Plant 42 in April 2008.

Boeing B-1B "Bone" Lancer from Edwards AFB.
Taken at the Edwards Airshow 2006.

Boeing C-17 Globemaster III from March AFB.
Taken at Beale Airshow 2006.

Breaking the Silence of the Desert

Amidst the barren desert,
There is a ballet in the sky.
Two white trails stretch across the sky,
Going back and forth for hours on end.
Two F-22s make the trails,
As they play follow the leader like two children.
Unaware of the silence of the desert below,
They dance at 25,000 feet carelessly.
A sole F-16 chases them,
But can’t keep up with the pure speed and maneuverability of the F-22s.
In a desert so silent, they break the silence with a loud sonic boom,
A sound that I will always remember as the Sound of Freedom.

Lockheed Martin F/A-22 Raptor

Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon (aka "Viper")

Poem is based from a vacation that I took with my dad and my brother back in April of 2005. We were sitting just outside of Edwards AFB down in the Mojave Desert and watched these aircraft takeoff, perform some high altitude maneuvers, and break the sound barrier. We started taking a yearly trip down to the Mojave Desert and Antelope Valley back in 2003 to watch aircraft fly out of Palmdale Plant 42, Edwards AFB, and NAS China Lake. I can't wait until our next exciting trip.

Beautiful

Sleek, elegant, beautiful,
All are great descriptions of her.
A slender little thing, but
She is also powerful.
A woman,
No a car.
A Lister body and a Corvette engine,
European style, American attitude.
The 1958 Lister-Corvette,
A beautiful racer in its generation.

The actual 1958 Lister-Corvette.

My personal 1958 Lister-Corvette.

Handbuilt 1/32 scale slot car.

It All Begins

This is the just the beginning of my pictures, videos, and stories to come on the page. The world of aircraft and cars will come to life in various pictures taken over the years with some vivid stories as well. Enjoy and rock on.

Corvette C-6R entering the famous "Corkscrew" at Laguna Seca Raceway in Oct. 2008. The last time I will see Corvette Racing contesting the GT1 class. When they return next year to Laguna they will be in the competitive GT2 class.
